Vox pathfinder mods11/30/2022 ![]() I found a one off speaker on Reverb from PMR and have been delighted with it ever since. The Greenback and the Cambridge Blue are both louder than the stock PF 10 speaker.Įven though I like the stock bulldog speaker, I decided to try a 6.5” alnico speaker as I had never tried one in any of my other amps and a 6.5" alnico speaker is much cheaper compared to a 10" or 12". I added a speaker out jack to my PF 10 and have run it through a 1x12 extension cabinet that has a Greenback and also a Vox v110nt cabinet having replaced the 16 Ohm Vox VC10 with a 10” 8 Ohm Celestion Blue Bulldog speaker that I was told came from a Vox Cambridge. IMO the PF’s 6.5 speaker is very good for a speaker of its size, and I personally don’t have the shop skills to attempt an 8 or 10 inch upgrade, but the amp does sound better when running it through an extension cabinet. ![]() ![]() These are very nice amps and the PF 10 sounds similar to my Traynor YCV20WR. A few months later I bought a PF 10 to take to the office along with a PF 10B. One night my wife and I were at a pub enjoying the band and during the intermission I chatted with the guitarist, and he told me about his PF 10 and about the prestige guitar he was using. For several decades I never looked at the amps at the music store as my SS FHRII and Traynor tube amp were serving me well. I discovered this forum while looking for ways to mod my Pathfinder 10. ![]()
